We have looked at beats. For now let’s have 4 beats to every bar. To make up tunes and improvise we are going to have some rules that will help you.

 

Scooby doo takes up 2 beats. You can play either a one beat note or a scooby doo to add up to 4.

The possibilities are therefore:

Try playing each line using the note C

 

Now mix the lines up to make your own tune, write it down to help you remember your choices. If you don’t like what you have picked, change it.
